Job Description
The Manager, Costume Entertainment is responsible for all entertainment costuming including supervising cosmetology.
- S/he will manage a team of costumers and work closely with suppliers/vendors to supervise the costume production cycle from start to finish.
- Identify ongoing costume improvement to improve cast comfort and production/maintenance efficiency
- Manage costume production budget and source new vendors and suppliers when required; continually evaluate the costume inventory level for all parties and develop costume replacement plans in a timely fashion
- Train cast members and supporting teams in the proper wear of all garments, including mascots.
- They will work closely with various teams to strike optimal business balance from multiple perspectives – creative, safety, distribution, maintenance, and financial and document all costume history from design through completion with relevant notes.
Job Requirements
- Degree holder, preferably in theatre costuming
- Minimum eight years in costume design or development, with at least 3 years managerial position
- Previous experience in show operations together with strong background in practical techniques, machinery, and hand sewing skills
- Confidence in speaking, reading and writing English essential.
- Solid knowledge in pattern making and textile construction
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all levels of stakeholders
- Outstanding leadership and management skills
